Sad to lose a player like Carragher

On last saturday's away win at the Stadium of Light, Liverpool outclassed the Sunderland team allthrought the match and they returned truimphant. But with them they took some injury blows. First being Sami Hyppia who went out with a broken nose and then Jamie Carragher who is said to have walked out with a broken rib.

I would like to comment a bit about the attitude of Carragher towards the play. We all so he had a collision with Reina while making the save and he was grounded immediately. Though he stood up and resumed to play immediately, we found him struggling and finding it unable to run. He called up the bench for a substitution but there was a confusion at that time. Benitez had plans to replace Babel with Riise. When Babel was about to come out there was the call from Carragher that he is not able to play and wish to get replaced. The officials demanded a fresh request for that meanwhile the play resumed. I believe that in such conditions most players if they are suffering from such acute pain will lie down so that the play gets stopped and they get some medical attention. But Carragher remained on the field in his position trying to keep the ball out of penalty area. Kudos!!! I would say on his determination to the game.

We learn today that he has a broken rib and pneumothorax. I really dont know what a pneumothorax means but I wish and pray that its not something serious. It's hard to miss a player of Carragher's quality and attitude. 'Get well soon Jamie Carragher" ..Liverpool defense needs you badly !!!
